Well played, uncle. Well played.
So Siv failed to take a tie to Atlanta, and he has a swearing in tomorrow for the state Bar:
Siv: “Hey dad, do you have any ties I can wear for tomorrow?”
His dad: “Yeah, tons! Like at least a half dozen or so!”
Siv: “Well I mean I wouldn’t really call that tons or anything, I’ve got more than a dozen…”
His dad: “Well mine are all clip-ons!”At which point Siv went out and bought a tie.
It’s true. My dad is frequently awesome. That being said, the new tie worked much better than a clip-on and even the criminals clapped when we got sworn in. One also asked Grant to represent her on our way out of the courtroom. He politely declined.
Doesn’t hold a candle to the time he showed up at a [very formal event] wearing a powder blue corduroy suit and black new balance tennis shoes. That was one of the highlights of my life.
Look, I understand that you wanted to be respectful by editing out what kind of formal event it was, but I think as long as you don’t say whose it was it’s ok. Also, knowing that it was a funeral makes the fact that he wore a powder blue corduroy suit and black tennis shoes more godawfully embarrassing. Also, the suit was faded. It wasn’t even new.
